The Rode NTG-3 is specifically designed to withstand adverse environmental conditions, incorporating a technology known as RF-bias, which renders the microphone almost completely resistant to moisture. This makes the Rode NTG-3 equally at home recording audio in a tropical rainforest, arid desert or sub-zero snowstorm, where traditional condenser microphones would fail.

On the audio performance side, the Rode NTG-3’s true-condenser super-cardioid capsule accepts standard 48V phantom power and delivers high-sensitivity recording and superior broadcast sound quality across a wide 40Hz to 20kHz frequency range. The Rode NTG-3 also exhibits extremely low handling noise, 50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun mics (just 13dBA) and a high level of immunity to radio frequency interference. These user-friendly design features coupled with the Rode NTG-3’s minimal weight of just 163g make it a sound recordist’s dream to use. Standard NTG-3 accessories include a Rode stand mount, foam windshield, soft pouch and tough aluminium storage case, and like all Røde microphones, the Rode NTG-3 comes with a full 10-year warranty.
