BFD3 is the latest version of FXpansion's acclaimed drum software, building upon the great reputation established by the previous two generations of the software. Providing a virtual acoustic drum studio with new levels of realism and ground-breaking features, the intuitive redesigned engine powering BFD3 makes it the most powerful version yet!

Featuring a fantastic array of new kits, mix-ready presets and modelling technology for tom resonance and cymbal swells, there is an exceptional level of detail to every sound preset in BFD3. And thanks to the revamped interface with a new mixer and sound browser, this is by far the easiest BFD experience to date!

Recorded by engineers including Andrew Scheps, Rail Jon Rogut and John Emrich, BFD3 features brush and mallet sounds and is recorded in 2 rooms for varied room ambience. It also contains a powerful built-in environment for pattern creation and editing, complete with a range of performances by legendary drummers for effortless production of drum tracks indistinguishable from the real thing.

BFD3 is designed to sound great while offering as much depth as you need. Browse for entire presets, quickly compile custom kits or mould any drum sound you desire by retuning, damping and processing multiple mics with the powerful internal mixing engine.

The built-in Groove section offers a versatile range of session drummer performances alongside pattern editing and creation functions. Select from a wide range of musical drum rudiments and paint your own realistic parts.

With detail levels of up to 80 velocity layers, rim-clicks and rim-shots for toms and bells and splashes for hihats, BFD3's sounds are more expressive than ever before. The library's 160GB of audio data is squeezed into 55GB thanks to BFD3's lossless compression system meaning less space usage and playback strain on your hard disk.

4 of the included kits are recorded in LA's Ocean Studios and feature additional mono room and hardware-compressed channels in addition to stereo overhead and room mics. The remaining 3 kits are stick, brush and mallet versions of a custom Mapleworks kit recorded in a tight but vibrant room at Omega Studios in Rockville, Maryland.

The internal BFD3 mixing engine has DCAM-modelled compression, filtering and other effects alongside great-sounding EQ and algorithmic reverbs. You can even use an external signal as a compression sidechain source.

New workflow enhancements let you hide multiple drum and ambient mics for simpler mixing approaches and it's easy to route multiple channels to discrete outputs for processing with other plugins or outboard gear. BFD3 even provides multi-channel audio export direct to disk. Grooves can be exported using drag and drop - perfect for compiling loops.

NEW IN V3.4.5

Release Notes: 

This builds adds native support for Apple computers with M1 Apple Silicon (VST/AU). Pro Tools AAX is not currently supported and still requires Rosetta. Cubase12 requires Rosetta currently also, given that in M1 Native mode Steinberg have chosen to not support VST2.

The AAX and VST3 support are on the BFD roadmap.

Additions:

    •    The VCA Comp now includes presets.

    •   There is now a dirty state indicator included in the preset name bar.

Bug fixes:

    •    Crash when deleting favourites lists.

    •    Fixed hihat pedal and splash processing.

    •    Crash on startup when some preference entries are very long.

    •    Minor tool-tip fix to groove editor tools.

Known issues & Limitations:

    •    Native support for M1 Apple Silicon in Pro Tools is not yet implemented.

    •    VST2 plugin will not be found by Cubase when Cubase is run in Apple

         Silicon mode.

Instructions for previous owners to update to 3.4.5:

1. Open BFD License Manager and Download + Install the latest version of

    BFD3 (v3.4.5)

2. Close BFD License Manager

3. Install the update (this will also update BFD License Manager)

4. Once installation is complete, open BFD License Manager, log in, and

    re-authorize BFD3.

Digital Downloads (buying software)

All software marked as "serial download" or "digital download" will be delivered via email within normal office hours.

Simply add the software to the basket and at the delivery stage in the checkout please select "Digital Download - Software by email" as your delivery method

The cutoff for same-day dispatch is 3:30pm but can vary at busier times such as Christmas.

Delivery Notes
On delivery you must inspect the goods carefully for damage as Inta Audio is unable to accept responsibility for damage in transit, shortage of delivery or loss of products unless the customer advises Inta Audio of such within three working days from the date of delivery.

Returns Policy

We ask that you follow these guidelines to help us process your return as quickly and efficiently as possible:

1. Please keep your order reference to hand. This confirms your original order and gives us the necessary details to authorise the product’s return.

2. Contact our Customer Services Team on 02476 369898 (or e-mail cs@inta-audio.com). We will then send you an RMA number and returns form which needs to be completed and sent back with the returned item(s).

3. (If the order has been unpacked) re-package it to ensure that it is being returned in its original condition. Please make sure all items relating to the product are returned, including manuals and cables.

4. When returning an item please obtain a ‘proof of postage’ receipt from the Courier.


Returned items must be mailed within 10 days of when the RMA Number has been issued. Items received with a post date 30 days after your requested return will NOT be eligible for refund.

Please note: Our returns policy is quite straightforward but there are a number of conditions that we ask our customers to comply with before applying:

1. It is your responsibility to request a return. If you don’t tell us you want to make a return, we don’t know. Once you do tell us, we will do everything we can to action it.

2. If you have not requested a return within 28 days of receiving an order, we will have assumed that you are intending to keep it and we will not authorise a return.

3. We always refund the payment according to how the original purchase was made and aim to do so within 72hrs of the return being received by us.

4. Returned goods are liable for a restocking fee of 15% towards handling and repackaging if the order is not returned in its original, unopened packaging. This charge will be subject to our inspection of the returned goods.

5. Delivery charges will not be refunded unless the delivered goods are faulty.

6. Replacement products are dispatched immediately after the returned goods have been received and accepted by Inta Audio.

7. Items that develop a fault within 30 days of delivery are eligible for a replacement or a refund. Delivery costs are also reimbursed for faulty items. Please contact our Customer Services Team on 02476 369898 if you believe your item has developed a fault.

Finally, please remember that notifying us of your intention to apply for a return, saving the delivery paperwork and keeping the order in its original packaging will help both you and Inta Audio to process the return quickly.
