RX 8 is the the industry standard audio repair tool that's been used on countless albums, movies, and TV shows to restore damaged, noisy audio to pristine condition. From noise reduction to removing clicks to fixing distortion, RX is a complete toolkit for clean up and audio restoration needs. Visually identify and repair problems with the standalone RX Audio Editor application, or use the plug-ins in real time in your favorite DAW or NLE.

Built for dialogue editors and post production professionals, RX 8 Stanard features powerful, professional audio repair tools to edit sounds in a way that doesn't seem possible, such as time saving dialogue editing tools, and industry firsts like Guitar De-Noise and De-Reverb.

RX 8 is ideal for anybody in the media production & editing business such as sound design for video games, TV, film, ADR, restoration, video editors and more.

New in iZotope RX 8 Standard

RX 8 Standard brings a host of new and exiting features. These are:

  • Guitar De-noise: Tighten up noisy guitar recordings by taming amp hum, fret squeaks, and transient pick sounds
  • Loudness Control (IMPORVED): Finalize your audio for broadcast with fullness and intelligibility
  • Batch Processor (IMPROVED) - Automate processing on groups of multiple files, saving time.

Key Features

  • Composite View - View multiple audio files as one, allowing you to edit them all at the same time using the same processing. Great for multiple mic recordings of the same source which have the same unwanted noise that needs removing.
  • Low-End Wind Rumble Removal - The most annoying thing when field recording is wind noise. While wind shields do a great job at reducing it, in some circumstances it is unavoidable. While De-Noise is a great tool for removing unwanted noise, it can also lead to some parts of the sound you want to keep being affected, if the wind is quite substantial. This tool will remove the low-end wind rumble that would otherwise overpower the track as a whole.
  • De-Bleed - When recording, especially vocals, the singer will wear headphones to hear the track. Sometimes the sound from this will bleed into the recording microphone adding subtle but annoying artifacts that would ruin a good take. This tool will analyse the track, separate the vocal from the nuisance audio and remove the problem.
  • Breath and De-Click - This tool will remove any clicks that a singer might make accidentally when recording. It will also remove breathing that will occur prior to a vocal section. These nuances occur naturally and are usually subtle, however when performed throughout a whole track they may become more noticeable and take away from the track.
  • Sibilance - This is a powerful de-esser designed to remove harsh sibilance from a vocal recording.
  • De-Hum - Removes unwanted hum and buzz. This is useful for removing things such as harsh guitar amp noise that may be bleeding through, or perhaps a loud piece of equipment such as a noisy refrigerator. Adaptive Mode removes hum that changes in frequency over time.
  • De-Click - This will remove unwanted clicks and pops that may occur digitally, such as clipping audio, microphone knocks, or simply background artifacts in the recording itself.
  • De-Noise - Quite possibly the most used and useful tool you will ever use (when repairing audio). This will remove noise from the background, and will significantly ensure your audio reaches top quality. This is useful in any scenario, but extra handy on field recordings. You can use it to remove wind noise (not so much of an issue now with the new wind-rumble tool), background chatter, static, or anything prolonged background artifacts that shouldn't be there. A common practice is to remove the white noise from a microphone caused by low-end pre-amps.
  • De-Crackle - This removes unwanted crackle-like sounds. It differs from de-click as it isn't removing harsh sudden pops, rather subtle noise that occurs constantly, such as vinyl crackle. This makes it great for restoring old records.
  • De-Clip - Also similar to de-click, this will remove harsh clipping artifacts created digitally, such as when a recording accidentally gets too hot. The mains focus is on this clipping however, so may not be as effective as de-click on other artifacts.
  • De-Reverb - Removes Reverb! This is a really handy tool to have when recording in a reverberant space. For example, when reporting from inside a cathedral or church, speech can get muddled and blur into something you cannot understand. De-reverb intelligently removes the reverb aspect while keeping the vocal itself untouched, resulting in a more understandable take.
  • Spectral Repair - This is one of the most powerful tools you can have. It will show you the spectrum of a given piece of audio, and allow you to edit it to your hearts content. You can cut out sections, copy sections to cover up artifacts while retaining audio integrity and more. The best part is you can see all the little errors that you wouldn't be able to do with a standard waveform.
  • Spectral De-noise - Attenuate amp buzz, tape hiss, and other unwanted steady state background noise.
  • De-Plosive  - A take on de-click. This will remove plosive sounds such as P's and T's, or even mic knocks that occur when recording.
  • Time & Pitch  - Intelligently time-stretch and pitch-shift with superior audio quality.
  • Insight - A real-time monitoring plugin. Also included with Ozone, this plugin standalone retails at $499. Any type of audio monitoring or viewing is possible with insight.
  • Dialogue Contour  - reshape the intonation of dialogue to improve a performance in post production, specifically tailored towards speech
  • Dialogue De-Reverb - reduce or remove unwanted reverb from dialogue.
  • Batch Processor Locate, process, reformat, and export multiple audio files from a single interface in one pass.
  • Music Rebalance
