Smartphone Recording from Rode – VideoMicro & VideoMic Me
RØDE has announced two new affordable microphones to add to their extremely popular VideoMic range – the VideoMicro on-camera mic and the VideoMic Me shotgun mic for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The VideoMicro is Rode’s smallest ever on-camera microphone at only 80mm in length, made from ultra light aluminium and includes their revolutionary Rycote shock mount as well as a tiny furry windshield! Optionally available is the Rode SC7, a TRS to TRRS cable allowing the VideoMicro to be used with smartphones to capture crystal clear sound for video and video applications such as Periscope. Plus the VideoMicro doesn’t need a battery and has switchless operation.
The VideoMic Me is a high-quality directional shotgun microphone designed for Apple iPhone® and iPad®. Featuring a TRRS connector and flexible mounting bracket it is compatible with a range of Apple devices as well as a range of Android and Windows mobile phones and can even accommodate some cases. The microphone can be fitted for primary camera or front camera (‘selfie’) use. It features a headphone jack conveniently located at the rear, to allow for monitoring and playback without removing the microphone.
Included with the VideoMic Me is a deluxe furry windshield for shooting outdoors or in adverse weather and its body is made from aluminum, giving it a high level of RF rejection. The microphone is finished in RØDE’s high-grade ceramic anti-glare black coating.
Both microphones will be available soon to buy from www.inta-audio.com
